- I feel a bit.. Okay, my problem is I can translate from Arabic but when I have to make sentences in Arabic I get confused.. how can I practice on that cause it makes me distressed. It's like, I should be able to do it by now.. and fast!
For that you need to take a different path, what you've been learning has been teaching you how to read and translate, but it hasn't taught you how to speak, so what you need is speech, and for that you can use al- 'Arabiyyah bayna yadayk, it will give you a lot, and i don't know if you've got the book "Raawdhatul Adab" or "Mufeedut taalibeen" but they will help you with it as well. You need to read actual sentences which are used in speech which you can then use and change according to your needs. - Quote :
- What's the difference between masdar and maada..
Masdar means "origin" "source" where as maadah means "subject" - Quote :
- Is it that the masdar is the root word, and maada is the original letters? =s I dunno..
The masdar is the root word, and the original letters are generally called the asl letters. - Quote :
- she said mujarrad is often used for thulaathi af'aal.. and mujarrad is asl letters?
Well, mujarrad literally means "free" "pure" etc, so when you say thulaathi mujarrad then you mean a word which has three original letters and does not have any extra letters added on, the same goes for rubaa'i mujarrad where you have 4 original letters. Samajh mein aaya?

| I don't get this line
العاقل تكفير الاشارة
al-'aaqilu takfeeeril ishaarah
The first one can't be mudaaf, second has a kasrah... and the last word has a dhamma.. how? What's the tarkeeb? And is it talking about takfeer as in when you call a Muslim a kaafir?
It goes side ways doesn't it.. you read it like an Arabic poem, right? You know for aafat, can you say 'damage' or is that poor english
what does bukhin bakh mean?

| Well firstly it's "takfeehi" not takfeeri, that's an indian haa not a raa, it means: For the intelligent person a sign is sufficient.
The tarkeeb is: al-'aaqilu = mubtadaa takfee = fi'l hi = maf'ool bihi al-ishaaratu = faa'il fi'l, apne maf'ool bihi aur faa'il se milkar = khabar mubatadaa + khabar = jumlaa ismiyyah khabriyyah. - Quote :

Aye it goes side ways. Well i don't see damage as one of its meanings, it's more in the meaning of disease/blight/devastation etc, what it means is: The blight of knowledge is forgetfulness. which means that the illness which knowledge suffers from is forgetfulness. - Quote :
- what does bukhin bakh mean?
It's not bukhin bakh, when used twice it's read "bakh bakh", like "wah, wah", and that is its exact meaning, but when used as one only then it can be used as "bakhin" as in the nasheed "bakhin falaqad rabihtal bay'a...."

| أسند means rest then? Wow it's got 4 letters! Yeah you know the teacher he said that there's ikhtilaaf whether Jibreel put his hands on the Prophet 's thighs or on his own, and he concluded that Jibreel alayhis salaam put his hands on his own thighs.. I still have some words I don't know, I'll get them and put them up. Also there was a Hans Wehr dictionary.. shall I get it or shall I get a simpler one because I need two, I need one for madrasah (and that has to be urdu) | |

But like
Nahw Sarf Balaagha... etc etc
But we only learn nahw and sarf... ?
Remember that fiks link I sent you with that course urban? He teaches Arabic 1 year and you get ijaazah to teach BUT that's ONE year, we do 4 kitaabs in 5/6 years... ONLY on nahw and sarf
