| Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it.
If we are incapable of finding peace in ourselves, it is pointless to search elsewhere.
You only live once - but if you work it right, once is enough.
It is difficult to live in the present, ridiculous to live in the future, and impossible to live in the past. Nothing is as far away as one minute ago.
Knowledge is like a fruit. When a fruit grows on a branch of a tree, its weight causes that branch to bend and bow. Similarly, when knowledge increases in a person, it causes him to become humble and not Mutakabbir (proud and boastful).
Everyone who is taken by death asks for more time, while everyone who still has time makes excuses for procrastination. - Hadhrat Ali (RA)
“How many times should you forgive someone?” - “As many as times as you wish for Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala to forgive you.”
“Joy and sorrow are the light and shade of life; without light and shade no picture is clear.”
"All Humans Are Dead Except Those Who Have Knowledge, And All Those Who Have Knowledge Are Asleep, Except Those Who Do Good Deeds, And Those Who Do Good Deeds Are Deceived, Except Those Who Are Sincere, And Those Who Are Sincere Are Always In A State Of Worry" - Imam Shafi (RA)

| "Whosoever loves that Allâh should open-up his heart for him and grant light to him, then let him abandon speech about that, which does not concern him, and abandon sins and turn away from acts of disobedience. Then there will be between him and Allâh a hidden treasure of good actions. So if this is done, then Allâh will open up such knowledge for him that will preoccupy him. And indeed in death is the greatest pre-occupation."

| Patience is: # in keeping away from the world by being occupied in Worship. # in the face of trials. # in keeping away from the forbidden things...
However, what is certain is that leadership is obtained by patience in all of these: # in fulfilling the obligatory duties of Allaah. # in avoiding His prohibitions. And, # over the decrees (of Allaah).

| A tree which has just taken root May be moved from the place by the strength of a man But, if thou leavest it thus for a long time, Thou canst not uproot it with a windlass. The source of a fountain may be stopped with a bodkin But, when it is full, it cannot be crossed on an elephant.

| FEARS OF FAITH
A man of faith and piety is always subject to the following fears: the fear of Allah, lest by any disobedience there is any faltering in faith; the fear of the angels lest they may record anything against him which may be a cause of remorse for him on the day of resurrection; the fear of the Satan lest he may tempt him to any evil; the fear of the angel of death, lest his life is taken before he seeks pardon for his sins; the fear of the world, lest by its temptation it makes him oblivious of the next world; and the fear of family members lest by his attachment to them he become oblivious to his duty to Allah.

| Remember the condition of a sleeping person. He sees in a dream the sting of a serpent and feels also its pangs. Even it occurs that he rises up suddenly with a loud shriek, removes the sweat of his face and shifts elsewhere.
He suffers pangs as a man in a wakeful state suffers pangs of a snake-bite. You see his body in a peaceful state and do not see any serpent around him. Yet it is a fact that he sees the serpents and feels their sting but it is not true in your case.- Therefore there is no untruth in the saying of the Prophet Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam.
You know that a serpent itself cannot give you pangs, but the poison which it throws in you gives you pangs. The poison itself is not pang, but the reaction which is creates in you gives you punishment. If the reaction is caused without poison, it is sufficient as a punishment.

| HUSBAND'S DUTY TO PROVIDE
Lawful earnings become difficult as a result of marriage. There is in Hadith that if a man earns virtues to the height of mountain, he shall have to wait near the Balance and accounts will be taken from him of his wealth, of his expenditure, of his maintenance and other matters.
The children will say to Allah on the Resurrection Day: "0 our Lord, take from him the account of his duties towards us, he did not teach us what we did not know and he gave us unlawful food to eat without our knowledge. Take compensation from him for these. The Prophet Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam said: "Nobody will meet Allah with a greeter sin than with a sin of keeping his family members uneducated. Very few people will get release from this danger."

| No one is born learned, but knowledge is only the result of learning. Ibn-al—Mubarak RA was asked, “What constitutes humanity?” To which he replied, “The learned”. It was then said, “And who are the kings?” He answered, “The ascetics”. And who,” he was asked, “constitute the lowest class among men?” “Those,” said he, “who, in the name of religion, grow fat in the world.”
Thus only the learned did [ibn-al--Mubarak] regard as belonging to humankind, because it is knowledge which distinguishes humans from the other animals.

| O man of double vision, hearken with attention:
Seek a cure for your defective sight by listening. Many are the holy words that find no entrance into blind hearts, but they enter hearts full of light. But the deceits of Satan enter crooked hearts, even as crooked shoes fit crooked feet. Though you repeat pious expressions again and again, if you are a fool, they affect you not at all. Nay, not [even] though you set them down in writing, and [even] though you proclaim them vauntingly. Wisdom averts its face from you, O man of sin, wisdom breaks away from you and takes to flight!

| SILENCE
A scholar of note had a controversy with an unbeliever but, being unable to cope with him in argument, shook his head and retired. Someone asked him how it came to pass that, with all his eloquence and learning, he had been unable vanquish an irreligious man. He replied: 'My learning is in the Quran, in tradition and in the sayings of sheikhs, which he neither believes in nor listens to. Then of what use is it to me to hear him blaspheming?'
To him of whom thou canst not rid thyself by the Quran and tradition The best reply is if thou dost not reply anything.

| Galenus saw a fool hanging on with his hands to the collar of a learned man and insulting him, whereon he said: 'If he were learned he would not have come to this pass with an ignorant man.'
Two wise men do not contend and quarrel Nor does a scholar fight with a contemptible fellow. If an ignorant man in his rudeness speaks harshly An intelligent man tenderly reconciles his heart. Two pious men keep a hair between them untorn And so does a mild with a headstrong man. If however both sides are fools If there be a chain they will snap it. An ill-humoured man insulted someone. He bore it and replied: 'O man of happy issue, I am worse than thou canst say that I am Because I know thou art not aware of my faults as I am.

| A wise man was once asked: "Which thing is to be hoarded?" He replied: "That thing which will remain with you even if your boat capsizes, that is knowledge."
The Holy Prophet Sallallahu Alyhi Wa Sallam said: "If a man seeks the path of acquiring knowledge, Allah guides him to a path leading to Paradise." He said: "Angels spread their wings out of cheer for the seeker of knowledge." He said: "To rise up at dawn and learn a section of knowledge is better for you than to pray one hundred Rak'ats." He said: "If a man learns a chapter of knowledge, it is better than the world and its contents."
