Ibn 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with them, reported:
The Holy Prophet (may peace of Allah be upon him) said: (The superstructure of) Islam is raised on five (pillars): The Oneness of Allah, performance of the Prayer, payment of Zakah, Fast of Ramadan, and Pilgrimage (to Makkah).

Anas reported that: “Three men came to the houses of the wives of the Prophet and asked how his worship was. When they were informed, they considered their own worship to be insignificant and said: 'Where are we in comparison to the Prophet when Allaah has forgiven his past and future sins?' One of them said: 'As for me, I shall offer prayer all night long.' Another said: 'I shall observe fasting perpetually, never to break it.' Another said: 'I shall abstain from women and will never marry.' The Prophet then came to them and said: “Are you the people who said such things? I swear By Allaah that I fear Allaah more than you do, and I am most obedient and dutiful among you to Him, but still, I observe fasting (sometimes) and break it (at others); I perform (optional) prayer (at night sometimes) and sleep at night (at others); I also marry. So whoever turns away from my Sunnah (i.e., my way) is not from me.” [Al-Bukhaari & Muslim]

narrated by Bakr ibn al-Harith al-Anmari radhiallahu anhu

Bakr went to the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) and said: Apostle of Allah! to whom should I show kindness? He said: Your mother, your sister, your brother and the slave whom you set free and who is your relative, a due binding (on you), and a tie of relationship which should be joined.

narrated by hadhrat abu hurairah radhiallahu anhu

Allah's Messenger (peace_be_upon_him) said, "When the booty is taken in turn, property given in trust is treated as spoil, zakat is looked on as a fine, learning is acquired for other than a religious purpose, a man obeys his wife and is unfilial towards his mother, he brings his friend near and drives his father far off, voices are raised in the mosques, the most wicked member of a tribe becomes its ruler, the most worthless member of a people becomes its leader, a man is honoured through fear of the evil he may do, singing-girls and stringed instruments make their appearance, wines are drunk, and the last members of this people curse the first ones, look at that time for a violent wind, an earthquake, being swallowed up by the earth, metamorphosis, pelting rain, and signs following one another like bits of a necklace falling one after the other when its string is cut."

tirmidhi transmitted it.

Mishkat.

this hadith is soo true, just look at how many of these things are prevalent today.

"Every son of Aadam sins, and the best of those who sin are those who repent."

'Whoever recieves a favor and says to the doer, 'May Allah grant you a good reward,' has excellled in his appreciation (Nasai, Tirmidhi).

This individual excels in his appreciation because he has confessed his inability to sufficiently praise or reward the giver of the favour and has entrusted it to Allah to give him a more complete reward (Mirqat al-mafatih 6:213).

Narrated by Uqba bin Aamir (RA), 'I heard Allah's Messenger Hadith Thread Saws
saying: One of my followers gets up at night pushing himself to perform
ablution (for prayer). On him there are several knots of Shaytaan. When
he washes his hands, a knot loosens. When he washes his face, another
knot loosens. When he passes his wet hands over his head, yet another
knot loosens. When he washes his feet, the last knot loosens. Then
Allah (SAW) says to those beyond the eyes i.e the angels "Look at this
slave of Mine who cures his inner self and asks Me for forgiveness so
what he asks is given to him.''

(This hadith is sound and reported by Ibn Hibban and Ahmed in his Musnad.)

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith Hadith 62 Narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas

Once I was riding (on an animal) behind the Prophet (peace be upon him) when he said: Boy, I would like to teach you something.
Be careful and follow Allah's commands perseveringly. Allah will protect you. You should safeguard His rights, and you will always find Him with you; if you need something, ask Allah, and when you need help, solicit Allah alone for the same.
Bear it in mind that if all the people combined together to grant you some benefit, they would not be able to do so except that which Allah has determined for you and that if all of them were combined together to do you harm, they would not be able to do so except that which Allah has determined for you. The pens have been set aside and the writings of the book of fate have become dry.

JazakAllahu khair for the hadith above :')

'Two greedy people are never satiated: one who is greedy for knowledge can never get enough of it, and one who is greedy for worldly posessions can never get enough of them (Bayhaqi, Shu'ab al-iman).'

aaand i jst read this hadith too Smile love :

'The most beloved actions in the sight of Allah are the regular ones, even if they amount to little in quantity (Bukhari, Muslim).

The word "actions" refers to set portions of supererogatory (nafl) prayers, Quran recitation, or dhikr litanies (awrad), among other optional acts of worship, which a person takes upon himself to fulfill on a regular basis (Mirqat al-mafatih 3:315-316)' (Provisions for the Seekers: 42/44)

Narrated by Ubaydah ibn as-Samit Radhiallahu Anhu

I taught some persons of the people of Suffah writing and the Qur'an. A man of them presented to me a bow. I said: It cannot be reckoned property; may I shoot with it in Allah's path? I must come to the Apostle of of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) and ask him (about it). So I came to him and said : Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him), one of those whom I have been teaching writing and the Qur'an has presented me a bow, and as it cannot be reckoned property, may I shoot with it in Allah's path? ^aswrwb,

Why is the translation so funky there?! confused smile

Definitely one of the best hadith ever Big Grin:

Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Allah Almighty has angels who travel the highways and by-ways seeking out the people of dhikr. When they find people remembering Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, they call out to one another, 'Come to what you hunger for!' and they enfold them with their wings stretching up to the lowest heaven. Their Lord - who knows best - asks them, 'What are My slaves saying?'
They say, 'They are glorifying You, proclaiming Your greatness, praising You and magnifying You.'
He says, 'Have they seen Me?'
They say, 'No, by Allah, they have not seen You.'
He says, 'How would it be if they were to see Me?'
They say, 'If they were to see You, they would worship You even more intensely and magnify You even more intensely and glorify You even more intensely.'

He says, 'What are they asking for?'
They say, 'They are asking You for the Garden.'
He says, 'Have they seen it?'
They say, 'No, by Allah, O Lord, they have not seen it.'"
He says, 'How would it be if they were to see it?'
They say, 'If they were to see it, they would yearn for it even more strongly and seek it even more assiduously and would have an even greater desire for it.' He says, 'What are they seeking refuge from?'

'They are seeking refuge from the Fire.'
He says, 'Have they seen it?' He says, 'How would it be if they were to see it?'
They say, 'If they were to see it, they would flee from it even harder and have an even greater fear of it.'
He says, 'I testify to you that I have forgiven them.'

One of angels says, 'Among them is so-and-so who is not one of them. He came to get something he needed.' He says, 'They are sitting and the one sitting with them will not be disappointed.'"

'He who is not grateful to people is not grateful to Allah (Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Ahmad).

Allah makes some people a means of blessing for others and commands that in return the recipients of such blessings express their gratitude. If one disobeys this command by not showing gratitude to the person, then he has not shown gratitude to Allah. Another explanation is that if a person cannot be grateful to people for their favours, despite them being ardently desirous of gratitude, then how will he be grateful to Allah, who is above and free from the need of gratitude? (Mazad al-raghibin 55)' (Provisions for the Seekers:85).
