Here are the ninety-nine treasured names of our Most Merciful Lord
For the Believer they are beloved, much adored
Such breathtaking power resides much within these words
Armed only with assurance, sincere fear and hope in Allah;
Iman, faith, more powerful than the mightiest of swords
Paradise, al-Jannah, promised for one who retains in his memory
These precious jewels so fair yet our intellect unable to capture still
The true beauty of a simple statement such as Bismillah,
In the name of Allah… For even that holds much gravity, much piety
For to begin in Allah’s name, to praise the Lord of the Worlds
How beautiful it must be for our tongues to praise the most Exalted, serenity
Peace descending upon the Believers, those illuminating pearls from humanity
For we believe nothing happens without His Devine Knowledge, Power and Will
And the dua of a believer is never rejected, so invoke Allah’s blessing, let it be a light
Allah’s are the Most Beautiful Names, so call Him with them, both day and night
Pray to Allah together, united as One Ummah, followers of Ya Habib, Ya Rusool
The Best of Creation our Leader, nur upon his Mubarak face, most precious jewel More handsome than the sun and moon together, sent to perfect good character true
The Mercy to mankind our Intercessor, his smile so radiant, pure as morning dew
This man so beloved, so humble, so pious… prayed to meet his brothers- to be with us
Hold steadfast to this noble deen so you may join him in Jannatul-Firdous, thus
Be firm in Iman and practise his Sunnah, in order to please Allah, and be near
Remember your Lord Most Great- for you remember those you love and hold dear
Recite form His Book; Al-Qur’an; send salutations upon his Beloved…

Over the heavens and the earth, all joys you do bring
Ya Qudoos the Holy One we worship, verily
Ya Salaam bestow peace Sakina, such tranquillity
Ya Mui’min I pray, be the Guardian of my faith, Iman
Ya Muhaimin Protect me from any doubts or sin, for Insaan
As humans we make mistakes, but protect us with Your grace
Ya Azeez, the All-mighty, Your most righteous faith we embrace
Ya Jabbaar, the Compeller- nothing occurs in Your Dominions so wide
Except that which You Willed- o how we long to be by your side
Ya Mutakabbir, Your undeniable Majesty evident in Your creation
The most respected Your Book,; Al-Qur’an, the Final Revelation
You say ‘kun’ Be, and it is- Ya Khaliq, the Creator, giving life and death
Bringing all from non-existence into existence; providing each and every breath
Ya Bari’, the Maker, creating order and stability, Perfect and incomparable; beyond
Our limited intellect; Allah is nothing like His Creation, and to His call we respond
Ya Musawwir, the Fashioner, You have blessed us with such noble forms, surely
Ya Ghaffaar, The Great Forgiver, You forgive our sins time and time again, lovingly
Ya Qahhaar, the Ever-Dominating One, to whose Will all submit, irresistible, firm
Ya Wahhaab, the Bestow, so generous, giving without asking for anything in return
Ya Razzaaq, the Sustainer, providing all; from mouth-watering fruit to pure water so sweet
To fulfil our hunger, quenching our thirst, fulfilling our needs and desires alike, complete
Content, though those whom He loves tested, suffering welcomed to attain His pleasure
Ya Fattah, the Opener, reveal for us the Unseen, draw us close to Your Presence; a treasure
Most desired, Your faithful slaves longing for the sweetness of nearness, this honour too great To behold or imagine, peace descending form the heavens, Knower of All, controller of all fate.

Ya Aleem, to You belongs all Knowledge, whether Known, Unknown or Uncertain, so Wise
Knower of what is concealed in our hearts, Iman before Your gaze, where true sincerity lies
Ya Qaabid, forgive us when we whine, The Withholder, in such Wisdom testing servants true
Ya Baasit, forgive us for surely Allah knows best- The Expander, so generous; if we knew
The realty is that all us from our Almighty Lord; Ya Qaabid, Abasing whom You deem fair
Ya Raafi’, the Exalter, elevate our status to Firdous so pure, to be with the one You declare
Ya Habib, Your beloved Nabi, and raise us to encompass a fragment of his most humble
Ya Mu’iz, O Honourer, honour us with Your favour, and do not allow our Iman to crumble
Ya Muthil, The Humiliator, protect us form Your wrath- do not degrade us, for we implore
The disbelievers await a Punishment most severe; make us not of those who defy Your Law
Nor of the hypocrites who claim they believe in Allah and the Last Day when in fact
They are promised the lowest depths of a blazing fire as their reward, recompense is exact
For Shaytan is their ally; they think to deceive the All-Knowing and those who believe
While they only deceive themselves; deaf dumb and blind they cannot perceive
Ya Samee’, The All-Hearing, unaided, unlimited, and Perfect; Lord Most Supreme
Ya Baseer; O All-Seeing, we tremble before Your mighty Gaze, a blessed dream
To find that same Gaze filled with Pleasure- we fear Your wrath, dreading to hear
Our names called out from amongst the people of the Fire; rather we adhere
And hope to meet You with peace in our hearts, content in our mind
Ya Hakam, O Judge; so fair and just; Guiding whom You will, from mankind
And Jinn alike; Ya Adl, The Just; entitled to what You do, accounting all our deeds
Ya Lateef, The Subtle One, kind to Your slaves, blessings satisfying our needs
Testing us subtly, the strength of our Belief, some wavering, holding steadfast
Ya Khabeer, knower of the truth, hidden intentions revealed; O The All-Aware
Ya Haleem, The Fore-bearing, delaying punishment for those who deserve- fair
So that You might forgive them; never despair in the Mercy of Ya Rahman
Ya Atheem, The Mighty, exalted with perfection, incomparable to creation, Insaan
Limited, while Allah is beyond our understanding; so glorify His praises and turn
Humility in heart, submissively in prayer; be not of those who’ll perish and burn
The Creator beyond His creation- all praise is for Allah, Alhamdulillah,
Attributes incomparable; loving and merciful, soul so near prostrating in Salah
Forgive us for we’ve strayed much from Your commands, prayer abandoned without a care
We plead for mercy, Your Rahma evident, mercy clear- forgive us when we despair

Ya Ghafoor, O All- Forgiving, forgive the sins of this Ummah; for on that Day
Neither wealth nor offspring will intercede for us; recompense we will pay
Even our limbs will speak out, the price of righteousness al Jannah; Gardens of eternal peace
Ya Shakoor, O the One who is Grateful for such little amount of worship, grant us ease
The smallest of consistent deeds most beloved to You, the path to your mercy so easy to gain
We seek forgiveness our Lord, our sins blackening our soul, so purify us, and help us refrain
Abstaining from all sin, repenting, tears flowing from our hearts, to attain Your Pleasure
To become a Waliyy; close Friend of Allah; and hold firm to Your noble Quran, a treasure
Ya Aliyy, O The Most High, raise our status to Jannatul Firdous, in the company of Ya Nabi
Accept our dua and praise him as he deserves; our attempts to glorify Your praise
A humble gratitude for all You have bestowed on us, Your Mercy infinite; before Your gaze
All things, our deeds, our yearning to be with the our Creator known to You, nothing hidden
Ya Kabeer, O the Most Great, Your status greater than all; we seek refuge from the forbidden
Ya Hafeez, O The Preserver, preserve our deen; Al Muqeet, The Sustainer, keep us steadfast
Ya Haseeb, The Reckoner; grant us an easy reckoning, Ya Jaleel, the Sublime One, save
Grant us shade under Your Throne us on that Day; protect us from the torment of the grave,
Ya Kareem, O the Most Bountiful One- how can we ask for Your bounty when you bless
Us continuously out of Your Divine mercy, your Rahma unquestionable; we ask for success
Ya Mujeeb, The Responsive, O the One who answers the one in need; accept our duas, hope
Ya Raqeeb, The Watcher, Aware of all our deeds; our hope in You is like a rope
A light so bright it fills our hearts and we hold it tightly, aware that only You can help, protect
Ya Wasi’, the All-Embracing, we embrace Your commands and turn in obedience, reflect
Ya Wadood, Ya Wadood, O The Loving, O The Loving, make us among those you love

Ya Baa’ith, O the Resurrector… do the hearts not shake with fear at the remembrance, tears Regrets at our sins, terrified at the mention of the Rising; aging in understanding, fears
When the Trumpet will be blown, and Allah shall give life to the dead, and we shall face
Rising from the grave to face our Lord, hearts beating so fast as though in a race
Ya Shaheed, O The Witness, nothing is absent from You, the Recompense, when man cries Out of great joy or terrible fear, every atom’s weight of good or evil shown before our eyes
Ya Haqq, The Truth, for there is no denying Your words; Ya Wakeel, The Trustee, we trust
In You to provide for us, our affair in Your hands; let not our Iman turn to rust
Ya Qawiyy, O the Most Strong; Ya Mateen, The Firm One; make us firm in belief, in Deen
Ya Waliyy, The Protecting Friend, bless us with this longed for status, till we become serene
Ya Hameed, O The Praiseworthy, we love this name, for only You deserve to be praised
We devote our time to Your Dhikr; a few words earning such rewards when we’re raised
Ya Muhsee, O The Counter; all is known to you, nothing hidden from Your Sight
O Originator, Ya Mubdi’, creator of all, creation longing to be bathed in Your infinite Light
Your mercy like a shining light radiating so beautifully, shining so bright
Ya Mu’eed, O the Reproducer, The Restorer, revive for us our belief in You, restore
Al Muhyi, O the Giver of Life, we are in constant gratitude for the fact we live, and implore
That we die in a state of Iman; Ya Mumeet, The Creator of Death, accept this plea
Ya Hayy, O The Alive, Your life in incomparable to creation’s; let us die in sincerity
O The Self-Subsisting, Ya Qayyum, upon You the existence of all depends
Ya Waajid, O The Perceiver, all is ever in Your presence; help us make amends
We call upon Your name to repent, Ya Waahid, O The Unique, beyond all
Ya Ahad, O The One, without parent or partner, to Your faith is our Call
Ya Samad, O The Eternal, in You Alone do we rely, turn to You in need
Ya Qaadir… O The All Powerful, O The Able, on sins our vain desires feed
We beg repentance, nearness, grant us the power to overcome trials, destroy all greed
Al-Muqtadir, O The Dominant, perfect in all attributes, perfect in Power
Ya Muqaddim, we beg O Promoter, raise our status in Jannah… The Final Hour
So very near, it’s Signs have never been so clear; Ya Mu’akir, O The Delayer
Accept all our deeds; illuminate our hearts with Your praise, and accept all our prayer

Ya ‘Awwal, O The First, Your Existence Alone without a beginning; to You we turn in hope
Our faith in You so strong; Ya ‘Akhir, O The Last, without end, let our love be a rope
Binding us close to Your most beautiful presence, holding us firm, helping us pass this Test
Ya Thaahir, there is nothing above You, Exalted beyond doubt, O The Manifest
Ya Baatin, O the Hidden, nothing is underneath You, unrestricted by time or place
Ya Waalee, O The Governor, managing all creation, it is Your religion we embrace
Ya Muta’aali, O The Most Exalted, clear from the attributes of creation, Most High
Ya Barr, O The Source of All Goodness, our Benefactor, so generous that we cry
Ya Tawwaab, O The Relenting, mercy shining like a beacon of light, always there Until the Sun rises from the East on that Day, the Signs warning so clear
And when the Door of Repentance closes, disbelievers shall tremble with fear
Ya Muntaqim, O The Avenger, most Just on the Day of Reckoning, recompense
Many drowning in sins leaving it too late to change, too late to beg repentance
Yet still, Ya Afuww, so merciful, O Pardoner, forgiveness comes so easily, so fast
Ya Ra'uf, O The Compassionate, guide us to Your mercy, so many sins of the past
We’re so blind to Your Majesty, ignorant as to how long our lives will last
Ya Malik ul-Mulk, O The Eternal Owner of Sovereignty this name held so dear;
Ya Thul-Jalaali wal-Ikraam, O The Lord of Majesty and Bounty, let us die sincere
To die with Shahadah on our lips in the company of Ya Rusool, in sujood, so near
The closest a servant is to his Lord, last breath escaping full of love and fear
Ya Muqsit, O The Equitable, Just in Your judgment, the true price we must pay
Ya Jaami’, O The Gatherer, the torments for our sins we must par on that Day
The One who gathers the creatures on a day of which there is no doubt, we cry
Ya Ghaniyy, O The Self-Sufficient, You do not need the creation; in You we rely
Ya Mughni, O The Enricher, satisfying all our needs, yet we’re so ungrateful, more
Our desires demanding more, too full to move while others starve so poor
We continue to beg we continue to plead… this Ummah is falling, so weak
O we continue to pray for brotherhood, once strong, Your Pleasure is all we seek

Ya Daarr, O The Distresser, we seek refuge from harm, Your wisdom we heed
Ya Nafi’, O The Propitious, benefiting and harming who You Will, we confide
Of our deeds you are All-Aware; Ya Noor, The Light, we ask of You to guide
To a path bestowed with peace, foreheads illuminated like a shining moon
Ya Haadi, O The Guide, let the light of faith blaze so bright though the gloom
Placed in the hearts of those You Will, guided to a Path of righteousness and piety
Ya Badi’, O The Incomparable, we cannot hope to comprehend Your Authority
So noble and great as You are; Ya Baaqi, O The Everlasting, we pray for eternity
In Your Paradise, transcending peace and luxury, in exchange for a fee of honesty
Sincerity the cure for the heart, Ya Waarith, O the Heir Your Existence remains
Ya Rasheed, O The Guide to the Right Path, let us be of one who never complains
Ya Saboor, O The Patient, bless us with the noble virtues of patience, such beauty
You do not quickly punish the sinners so You may forgive, such mercy
Hearts full of patience full of love and content, tranquillity descends, such purity
We cal You by these names, each unique and beautiful; I call You by Allah
The One and Only, Lord of the worlds, our Master, Owner of the Day of Judgment
So perfect in all Your attributes, each name like a precious gem, glowing stars
One retaining them in his memory accepted into Paradise, so easy to attain
Your overwhelming mercy causing tears to flow, into that ocean of eternal love, to remain
Praising you with such words whose meaning is more powerful than any weapon
The nearness to our Creator more longed for than the greatest of treasures
For that indeed, to attain that love, would undoubtedly be the greatest pleasure
