Imaam al-Shaafi’i Rahimahullaah said: ‘There is nobody except that he has someone who loves him and someone who hates him. So if that’s the case, let a person be with the people who are obedient to Allaah `Azza Wa Jall.’

aswrwb

I'm just making the thread in the meantime, Insha Allah i want to translate some pieces from the kitaab al farqu baynal firaq of imaam abdul qaahir al baghdadi rahimahullah, it's a real nice kitaab, it's full name is "al farqu baynal firaq wa bayaanul firqatin naajiyah minhum", and it speaks about all the deviant sects and then it comes to the ahlus sunnah.

The chapter on the shias is mind boggling, but al that will have to wait until i get time to translate a bit of it Insha Allah thumbs up

The first chapter is concerning the rawaafidha.

We have mentioned earlier that the Zaydiyyah amongst them are three sects, and the Kaysaaniyyah amongst them are two sects, and the Imaamiyyah amongst them are fifteen sects, and we will start by mentioning the Zaydiyyah, then the Imaamiyyah, then the Kaysaaniyyah, in that order Inshaa Allaah.

1: The Jaaroodiyyah from the Zaydiyyah

They are followers of Abu al-Jaarood (Ziyaad bin al-Mundhar al-Hamdhaani al-Khurasaani), and they claim that Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam had given the Imaamah to Ali Radhiallahu Anhu by description and not by name, and they also claim that the Sahaabah became kuffaar by not taking the bay’ah by Ali Radhiallahu Anhu. And they also say that Hasan bin Ali Radhiallahu Anhu was the imaam after Ali Radhiallahu Anhu, then his brother Husain Radhiallahu Anhu was the imaam after Hasan Radhiallahu Anhu.

And the Jaaroodiyyah have split into two groups concerning this order:

The first group says: Ali Radhiallahu Anhu gave the imaamah to his son Hasan Radhiallahu Anhu, then Hasan Radhiallahu Anhu gave the imaamah to his brother Husain Radhiallahu Anhu after him, then the imaamah was done through consultation between the sons of Hasan and Husain Radhiallahu Anhumaa, so whoever amongst them came out with his sword unsheathed and calling to his religion – and was an ‘Aalim and an ‘Aarif – then he was the imaam.

And the second group claims: That Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam was the one who gave the imaamah to Hasan Radhiallahu Anhu after Ali Radhiallahu Anhu, and gave the imaamah to Husain Radhiallahu Anhu after Hasan Radhiallahu Anhu.

Then the Jaaroodiyyah split up into many groups concerning the Imaam al-Muntadhar (the awaited Imaam i.e. Imaam Mahdi)

The first group: They are not waiting for a certain person, they say: Anyone from the offspring of Hasan and Husain Radhiallahu Anhumaa that unsheathes his sword and calls towards his religion, then he is the imaam.

The second group: They’re waiting for Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Hasan bin Hasan bin Ali bin Abi Taalib, they do not believe he was killed or died, and they claim that he is the guided and awaited one who will emerge and rule the world. And the view of this group is like the Muhammadiyyah of the Imaamiyyah, they too are awaiting Muhammad bin Abdullah bin Hasan bin Hasan bin Ali.

The third group: They’re awaiting Muhammad bin Qaasim bin Ali bin Umar al-Husainy al-Alawi at-Taalibi, from the town of Taaliqaan (a place in khurasaan), and they believe he did not die.

The fourth group: They’re awaiting Yahya bin Umar bin Yahya bin Husain bin Zayd bin Ali, the one from kufa, and they do not believe he died or was killed.

These are the views of the Jaaroodiyyah, and to make takfeer of them is waajib, because of their takfeer of the companions of Rasoolullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam.

2: The Sulaymaaniyyah or Jareeriyyah of the Zaydiyyah.

They are the followers of Sulaymaan ibn Jareer az-Zaydi who said: The Imaamah is done by consultation, and it is concluded by two men from the best of the Ummah, and they have permitted the Imammah al-Mafdhool, they confirm the Imaamah of Abu Bakr and Umar Radhiallahu Anhumaa, and they claim that the Ummah left the better option by giving Bay’ah to them, because Ali was more rightful to Imaamah than them, except that their mistake by giving Bay’ah to them does not necessitate kufr or fisq. And Sulaymaan ibn Jareer made takfeer of Uthmaan Radhiallahu Anhu based on the Ahadeeth that the Naaqimoon from them related, and the Ahlus Sunnah makes takfeer of Sulaymaan ibn Jareer because of him making takfeer of Uthmaan Radhiallahu Anhu.

JazakAllahu khair

I quite like how it says 'to make takfeer on them is waajib' then I don't feel scared for my own self.
