Duaa for Peace and Safety in Times of Grief and Distress

For peace and safety in times of fear, distress and grief, read the following in abundance. Allah SWT will grant safety from every calamity.

Transliteration:

Laailaha illallaaul ‘aTHeemul Haleem; laailaaha illallahu rabbul ‘arshil ‘azeem; laailaaha illallaahu rabbus samaawaati wa rubbul arDi wa rabbul ‘arshil kareem (Bukhkari, Muslim)

Allahumma innaa naj’aluka fee nuHoorihim wana’oothu bika min shuroorihim (Abu Dawood, Nasaa’ee)

Translation:

There is no deity except Allah, most Great and Forbearing;
There is no deity except Allah, Lord of the Exalted Throne;
There is no deity except Allah, Lord of the Heavens, and Lord of the Earth and Lord of the Honoured Throne (Bukhari, Muslim)

O Allah, we place You in front of them (enemies) and see Your Refuge against their evils (Abu Dawood, Nasaa’ee)

As for the arabic,

لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ الْعَظِيمُ الْحَلِيمُ ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ رَبُّ السَّمَوَاتِ ، وَرَبُّ الأَرْضِ ، وَرَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْكَرِيمِ

And the second one,

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَجْعَلُكَ فِى نُحُورِهِمْ وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شُرُورِهِمْ

Asmaa' bint Omays, radi Allahu 'anha, said: Allah's Messenger,
sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam, told me, "Shall I not teach you
words to say whenever you are aflicted with something? Say:
'Allahu Rabbi (Allah is my Lord), Laa Shareeka lah (He has no
partner).'" - Abu Dawood

[Lessons from this hadith] The entire universe is the creation
of Allah. When you find yourself aflicted by something, follow
this advice of what to say and notice what happens. Allahu
rabbi, laa shareeka lah!
