| Many variations... which is correct? When to use what? - Jazakallah - Jazakallah khair - Jazakallahu khair - Jazakallahu khairan I'm sure I've seen more, but just can't remember the others |

| From what i know: JazakAllah = May Allah reward you. JazakAllah Khayr = May Allah reward you greatly. JazakAllahu Khayr = same as above and JazakAllah Khayran = im not too sure Jazakumullah = for more than one person but Admin will know more about this inshAllah |

| 1: When replying to 3 or more people (male) you say Jazakumullahu Khair 1.1: If you're replying to a group of females and one man is there as well then you say Jazakumullahu khair 2: When replying to 3 or more females you say JazakunnAllah
But you never find anyone using anything other than jazakallahu khair.
I've done this lesson countless times but i'll do it again,
Jazaahu - singular absent male Jazaahuma - dual absent male Jazaahum - plural absent male Jazaaha - singular absent female Jazaahuma - dual absent female Jazaahunna - plural absent female Jazaaka - singular present male Jazaakuma - dual present male Jazaakum - plural present male Jazaaki - singular present female Jazaakuma - dual present female Jazaakunna - plural present female Jazaany - singular 1st person Jazaanaa - plural 1st person
Admin wrote that btw on Ummah not me |

| Gramattically it will not be correct to say so, you'd have to say Jazakumullahu khair, but i suppose if you don't know arabic and speaking to people who don't know arabic then i suppose you could say jazakallahu khair if they assume it to refer to them all. _________________ “There is no worse calamity for knowledge and its people than when outsiders intrude. | Since this is a jazakallah thread i just want to clear up one of my earlier mistakes.
My assertion was that it was fine to say 'jazakallah' to both males and females, which is wrong, i didn't really think it through, but after doing some thinking i realised my mistake, it was a blatantly obvious one which i would have to be blind to miss, but somehow it managed to elude me.
My train of thought was that you're saying "Jazak-Allah", hence why i said it's okay to say to a female as well assuming that the kasrah of the kaaf had been made mahzoof, but i was quite mistaken, for a word cannot be left harkat-less in the middle of a sentence, thus "jazakallah" is actually "Jazaka-llah", therefore saying 'jazakallah' to a female will be gramatically incorrect.
I know the majority of you won't know what i'm speaking about, so in short, 'jazakallah' is for a man and 'jazakillah' is for a woman. _________________ “There is no worse calamity for knowledge and its people than when outsiders intrude.
