| That Stranger is Me
When I tell you a story of a stranger
Crying through the night
Her face veiled with suffering
Pain fills her sight
Will you stand back and watch her cry
As she watches her brothers die
Will you stand back and raise no hand
Against injustice you make no stand
Her pain is clear for all to see
Crying out to humanity
Help me...
O God, please Help me...
Will you stand back as a mute man talking
Taking the words from his sister’s lips
Will you stand back as a deaf man listening
To her screams as her heart‘s shot torn through as it rips?
As the bombs blow her body apart
As the blades slice through her skin
Will you stand back as a blind man watching
Them fight a battle without help they cannot win?
As her hearts breaks and her body is broken
And her soul screams in anguish as she sees her loved ones murdered before her eyes
What will you do if there’s nowhere left to hide
Will you stand by as her baby girl dies?
When I tell you a story of a stranger
Crying through the night
Her face veiled with suffering
Pain fills her sight
Her father burnt at the stake
Her mother screaming as they rape
Her son shot for their sake
No laws exist for soldiers to break
Her brother struggling to be free
In a land of slaughter and barbarity
Chains tight, accusation raw
No justice in a land where there aint no law
Her baby girl shot through the head
Little girl weeps no more
Cruel men came and shot her dead
Her cot her grave, daddy bleeding on the bed
Everything breaking except for her faith
A blazing light through the darkness of night
Tears of blood fall against her cheek
She weeps whispering, everything’s gonna be alright
When I tell you a story of a stranger
Crying through the night
Her face veiled with suffering
Pain fills her sight
No need to ask when I know what comes next;
She’s Just gotta hold on… While you stand by and do nothing. | |
