aswrwb

This science interests me greatly, I don't know Arabic, and insha Allah I'll learn sooon but I know a bit about this cause I started by myself and then I lost motivation. =/

I learnt something today alhamdulillah

zakaah is from the root za ka ya which means 'to purify'

And then I did this myself, and I got really happy

tazkiyah is from the same root too! There's a rule though and I don't know what it's called, but it's like 'ilm turns into ta'leem so the ta is what... okay I've forgotten anyway .. actually I dunno what I'm chatting, someone correct me

The thing I was happy about was I recognised the same root word from zakaah for tazkiyah and tazkiyah means purification of the soul. ^_^ so zakaah and tazkiyah is from the same root word, and no one told me the root of tazkiyah, I figured it out, which is why I got happy! ^_^

Sorry I know it's lame. =/ I might even be wrong so.. no one burst my bubble =(

Post more!

good good thumbs up

There's a book on al-inaam.com called treasures of arabic morphology, that's a good book to help you with your sarf.

It's on the baab of taf'eel, e.g. darb - tadreeb, these baabs have specialities which changes the meaning of the word, like baab istif'aal has the speciality of "to seek", so for example the word istighfaar is on that baab and that means 'to seek forgiveness'.

The asl of tajzee is jazaa, ajr is a different word.

You take words and add them to these baabs, their meaning will then change according to the speciality of that particular baab, there are a number of them, i only mentioned one previously which is istif'aal, which puts the addition of "to seek" into your sentence, then there's mufaa'alah which indicates the action is being done from both sides, thus the word mujaadalah (arguing) shows that i am arguing with you and you are also arguing with me, it's something we're both doing, ans so on these baabs affect the meanings of words.
