Words of Wisdom - Seeking Knowledge

Imaam Sufyaan at-Thawree said:

لَيْسَ شَيْئٌ بَعْدَ الفَرَائِضِ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ طَلَبِ العِلْمِ
{There is nothing better after learning the Obligatory matters than seeking Knowledge.}

'Abdullaah ibn Mas'ood (radhi-yallaahu 'anhu) said:
"Certainly, I consider/regard a man who has forgotten knowledge which he used to know/possess to be the result of the sins he used to do"

'Abdur-Razzaaq ibn Hammaam said:

"Any knowledge which cannot accompany its holder/possessor to the toilet is not considered knowledge" scratch

It has been authenticated from Rabee'ah who said:

"Knowledge is a means to all excellence"

On the authority of Yahyaa ibn Abee Bukayr, who said:

"It was said to Sufyaan ath-Thowree:

"Until when will you (continue to) seek (knowledge of) hadeeth?"

He said: "And what better good is there than the good of hadeeth, such that I may pursue it? Indeed, (knowledge of) hadeeth is the best of (all) the knowledge of this world"""

ash-Shaafi'ee said:

"Knowledge is that which benefits, not that which is memorised"

'Ali (radhi-yallaahu 'anhu) said:

"Knowledge is better than wealth; Knowledge protects you and you (have to) protect wealth" .

aswrwb,

What, so you was just waiting for the time the times synched (at 2:57) before posting the reply eh?! And you did not return the salam Astaghfirullah:

Abu Hurayra (R.A) reported that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said,
"A Muslim has five rights over another Muslim: returning the Salam, visiting the sick, joining funeral processions, accepting invitations and blessing those who sneeze."
[Agreed upon] Riyad as-Salihin

:')

Volumn 003, Book 041, Hadith Number 591.
-----------------------------------------
Narated By Al-Mughira bin Shu'ba : The Prophet said, "Allah has forbidden for you, (1) to be undutiful to your mothers, (2) to bury your daughters alive, (3) to not to pay the rights of the others (e.g. charity, etc.) and (4) to beg of men (begging). And Allah has hated for you (1) vain, useless talk, or that you talk too much about others, (2) to ask too many questions, (in disputed religious matters) and (3) to waste the wealth (by extravagance).

(^I just thought I'd post that since i came across it and it's a good reminder, mashaAllah). outta

Wassalam.
