This science interests me greatly, I don't know Arabic, and insha Allah I'll learn sooon but I know a bit about this cause I started by myself and then I lost motivation. =/

zakaah is from the root za ka ya which means 'to purify' 



And then I did this myself, and I got really happy 



tazkiyah is from the same root too! There's a rule though and I don't know what it's called, but it's like 'ilm turns into ta'leem so the ta is what...  ...</description>
